Engineering Dimensions

September/October 2018

Engineering Dimensions is published quarterly by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and is distributed to all PEO-licensed professional engineers. The magazine provides information relevant to the practice of professional engineering and promotes awareness of the Professional Engineers Act and the activities of the association.

In this issue:   If engineering is at the heart of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, engineering education must move away from the traditional chalk-and-talk approach toward new, innovative approaches. In this issue, we look at the evolution of STEM to STEAM, allowing school-age children to be enrolled in fully integrated and well-rounded science and arts curricula; and we explore universities’ use of work placements prior to graduation to help engineering students make connections between their schooling and their prospective engineering careers.
